Capturing your story
If you don’t normally like being photographed, an engagement shoot is a great way to discover that being the subject can be great fun! We also really appreciate getting to know you both more before your wedding, and you get an idea of how it will feel having us as your photographers on your wedding day. Just enjoy some quality time away from wedding planning and the rest of the world. We will take some photos, give you some light direction, but most of the time we’ll just let things happen. It will be lots of fun with lots of poses, and multiple outfits. Use this time to express your personality as a people and most importantly as a couple.

IMAGES WITH YOUR PET What better way to capture your new family than by including a beloved pet?
SEASONAL

What to wear
WEAR SOMETHING THAT REPRESENTS YOU, BECAUSE THIS IS ALL ABOUT YOU
What you wear makes a huge difference to the outcome of your engagement photos, so here are some general rules to follow. Wear something that makes you feel confident, comfortable, and shows your personality. Bring a few options and feel free to explore and get creative with your wardrobe, and know we are here to help if you need it.
COLORS
COLORS We recommend that people lean towards neutrals, earthy tones, and metallics and to stay away from bright colors. This doesn’t mean just creams and browns and grays. There are neutrals for every single color! Instead of green, go for a soft forest green. Instead of red, go with a deep maroon. Instead of yellow, go for a mustard yellow and so on. And it is always good to pick something complementary to your skin tones. Patterns
PATTERNS are good but stay away from things that are to busy, distracting, or something that will blend into the location of your shoot. And it is also always good to stay away from big chunky patterns.
MOVEMENT Anything that can show movement or catch the wind is a big YES. We love incorporating movement into our photos. It adds such beautiful energy to images. The stiffer the material, the less you’ll be able to move, meaning you’ll probably be a lot less comfortable!
ACCESSORIES AND PROPS These are items that can make your photos more personalized and more you, showing more of your personality. Props like motorcycles, your precious cat or dog, blankets, a truck, a campfire, flowers, a picnic, or really whatever screams you. And we always encourage accessories, like hats, sunglasses, scarves, & jewelry, but just be careful with big bulky accessories that are distracting.
